Matthew Perry Emmy Seat |
| Cameras were allowed inside the Nokia Theater for an Emmy Press Preview on Wednesday, and what it revealed in the seating (blown up below) is the mashup of telegenic celebrity and Emmy nominees -- and they try to keep it 'boy-girl-boy-girl.' Overall, the best seats are the front row and aisle seats. The front row gets less desirable as it moves to the outward edges. For example, a second or third row aisle seat, if on a central aisle, would arguably be better than an outer edge front row seat. Eva Longoria and then Matthew Perry, who is next to 'The Good Wife' nominees Christine Baranski and then Julianna Margulies, in the coveted front row aisle seat. Look all the pictures here |
Matthew talks about Mr Sunshine |
Mr Sunshine influced by pilot |
| Matthew Perry has revealed that his new show Mr. Sunshine was influenced by his failed pilot The End of Steve. The actor told the Los Angeles Times that he had learnt an important lesson while filming the pilot, which was rejected by Showtime. "That [show] was a much darker version of what we're doing here," he explained. "So dark that it didn't get picked up!" The former Friends star also admitted that he had partly based his new character Ben Donovan on himself. "I like to say that this character is me five years ago," he confessed. Perry previously said that he enjoyed exploring the selfish side of Donovan. Mr. Sunshine will air in midseason on ABC |

Born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, Matthew Perry was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, where he became a top-ranked junior tennis player in Canada. However, after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 15 to live with his father (actor John Bennett Perry), he became more interested in acting. In addition to performing in several high school stage productions, he remained an avid tennis player. Perry ranked 17th nationally in the junior singles category and third in the doubles category. Upon graduating from high school, Perry intended to enroll at the University of Southern California. However, when he was offered a leading role on the television series, "Second Chance" (1987), he seized the opportunity to begin his acting career.
